Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra’s bail plea hearing adjourned to August 20 in pornography case, businessman to remain in judicial custody | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood – Times of India

The Sessions court of Mumbai will now continue to hear the bail application of actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman, Raj Kundra, who was arrested last month in a case related to the creation and distribution of pornographic content on August 20, 2021. The court was hearing the bail application of his business associate, Ryan Thorpe as well. Both were arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch last month. The duo was previously denied bail by a lower magistrate court in the same case. In the last hearing, the additional Sessions Court judge asked the prosecution to file its reply which was filed and submitted on August 10. Both will remain in judicial custody till August 20. While denying bail to Kundra, the magistrate court had noted that the alleged offences committed by the duo were detrimental to the health of the society. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is yet to give a clean chit to actress Shilpa Shetty in the case. As the actress was a director of Viaan Industries, Kundra’s firm, the police decided to question her. Shilpa had later resigned from the post. The bank accounts under the under include one joint account of Kundra’s Viaan Industries. An official had earlier stated that so far, investigators have not found a flow of money into any of the bank accounts operated by the actress from those which are under the lens. Raj Kundra reportedly earned at least Rs 1.17 crore between August and December last year from his porn business, the police told a magistrate’s court some time back. As for Shilpa, she has been keeping away from the limelight ever since her husband was arrested. However, she did share a statement on social media, urging everyone to respect her family’s privacy for the sake of her children – Viaan and Samisha. She had said, ‘MY STAND… I HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf.’
