Even as he called the nomination of fellow cricketer-turned-politician Harbhajan Singh an exception, Sidhu charged the Bhagwant Mann-led government of acting at the directions of a “remote control” from Delhi.
“New batteries for the Delhi remote control , it’s blinking ….. Harbhajan is an exception , the rest are batteries and betrayal of Punjab ! @ArvindKejriwal,” said Sidhu in a tweet.

Apart from Singh, Chadha and Pathak, the AAP has also decided to nominate industrialist Sanjeev Arora and Lovely Professional University chancellor Ashok Mittal to Rajya Sabha.
Several opposition leaders on Monday has questioned the move claiming that “outsiders” had been chosen or that farming community was ignored.
However, Sidhu’s jibe also led to some social media users questioning the Congress leader as well.
Some of the users asked him whether his decision to make an exception for Harbhajan Singh was because the two were cricketers and knew each other well.
Some others asked if the Congress also did not follow a model where decisions were taken by senior Delhi-based leaders.
The AAP has scored a massive victory in Punjab in the recently held state elections. The Aam Aadmi Party won 92 seats ousting the Congress from power. Sidhu was the chief of the Congress state unit.
