Somy Ali reacts to her latest post supporting Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan: ‘Judicial system is using him, which is not fair’ | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood – Times of India

After the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan in a drug case, many celebrities from Bollywood came out in solidarity with King Khan and his family including former actress Somy Ali. Somy recently wrote a strong note mentioning that Aryan should be let go. Now, in an interaction with a news portal Somy elaborated on her post supporting Aryan Khan. She said, ‘As a human rights activist and the founder of an NGO, it is ingrained in me to never back down from helping anyone who is going through hell. And, right now this young man, Aryan and his parents are going through unfathomable circumstances. Therefore, if I can use my voice to raise awareness of the idiocy of what the law enforcement is displaying then why the hell not speak up?’. In her recent post supporting Aryan, Somy also admitted that she herself had smoked pot with late actress Divya Bharti on the sets of a film. Elaborating further in the interview, Somy said, ‘I tried it at 15, then later with Divya (Bharti, late actor) during Andolan’s (1995) shoot. It’s just something teenagers and young adults try and some enjoy it while others opt out. I realised it wasn’t for me. As for what is and has been done to Aryan is pretty obvious. Shah Rukh is Bollywood’s number one star literally to an extent where David Letterman flew to India to expose the epitome of his success. It is evident that the judicial system has solely one agenda here and that is to prove to the public that we do not care that a young man is the son of very wealthy and famous parents’. In her Instagram post also Somy opined that prostitution and drugs will never go away from the society, therefore, both should be legalised. So said, ‘I would reiterate that he is a young man and that’s what young men do. Why are we making him sound like a monster? There are homeless people all over the city of Mumbai passed out on pavements under the influence of drugs, why aren’t the police going after them? Let me take a wild guess, because they are not Shah Rukh and Gauri’s children.’ Earlier, blaming the judicial system for using Aryan, Somy also wrote, ‘The judicial system is using Aryan to prove a point as this child suffers for no damn reason. How about the judicial system focus on catching rapists and murderers instead?! The US has been fighting a war on drugs since 1971 and yet they are easily accessible to anyone who desires to use them.’ She concluded her post stating, ‘My heart goes out to Shah Rukh and Gauri and my prayers are with them. Aryan, you have done nothing wrong and justice will be served, kiddo #freearyan #facade #justiceforaryan’. Well, Aryan Khan got arrested on October 3rd by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a drug case and is currently in 14-day judicial custody.
