Tcs Mandates Three Days In Office For All Employees | India Business News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has sent an email to employees saying it is mandatory for all to work from office at least three days a week.
The mail says managers will create a roster, and adhering to the roster is mandatory. The adherence, it says, will be tracked. “Needless to mention, any non-compliance will be taken seriously, and administrative measures may be applied,” it says.
Asked about the mail, a TCS spokesperson told TOI: “We are moving in a phased manner to get our associates back to office. This is in line with our vision to transition to 25×25 model.”
The 25×25 model refers to the plan, first announced by CEO Rajesh Gopinathan in May 2020, soon after the pandemic lockdowns started, under which only 25% of employees would be expected to work from office by 2025. More recently, he has been quoted as saying that the 25×25 model needs to be executed in a more controlled manner, and till that is firmed up, all employees would be asked to return to office.
TCS had previously asked employees to return to their home locations. Last month it asked senior employees to start working from office. The latest mail says: “It is now time that our larger teams start working from office as well. This will also be an opportunity to welcome a significant number of our new colleagues, who have joined us over the last two years – most of whom have not yet been in a TCS office,” it said.
The mail noted that customers are also now visiting TCS offices globally.
