To help educated youths, Army holds pre-recruitment training camp at Surankote-Poonch – Times of India

Jammu, Oct 10: Army started a pre-recruitment training camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district to prepare the local youth to join the armed forces, a defence spokesperson said.
PRO Defence Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand said, “Indian Army conducted screening recruitment training for youth enrolment in Indian Army at Surankote, Poonch (J&K).
“The pre recruitment training aimed at providing physical conditioning and written examination preparation for youth aspiring to join the Indian Army from remote areas of Pir Panjal Region.”
Col Anand said, “The purpose of this initiative was to give a platform and guidance to prepare youth to join the Indian Armed Forces under Agnipath initiative.”
“The event conducted for six week in which initially 204 youths were helped in registration on Aginveer portal after conduct of preliminary medical examination.”
“Local Army unit organised various skill tests like two-km run, ground test as also theoretical classes towards preparing the participants for the recruitment rallies.”
Col Anand said that the final leg of the event was conducted at ALG, Surankote in which 78 youths were selected for the final recruitment rally to be held at Jammu.
“The pre-recruitment camp will go a long way in preparing the youth from remote areas to successfully join the Army after necessary screening during the conduct of forthcoming recruitment rallies, ” the spokesperson said.
Col Anand said, “Participants praised the initiative undertaken by the Army for providing a rare opportunity to the unemployed youth to join the armed forces and their general upliftment of the education standard.”
