Viswanathan Anand biopic on the cards; the former world chess champion wants Aamir Khan to play the role – Times of India

Former World Chess champion Viswanathan Anand has confirmed that a biopic on him is on the cards. During an event in Kolkata, Anand, who is known to be a private person stated that the film will be a glimpse of his personal life. He also added that the movie will quash the belief that ‘Chess players are from an alien planet’.

Talking about the same, the chess grandmaster added that he has shared his life stories with the producer several times and the work on the script will begin soon.

He went on to say that due to COVID, the work has been stalled but hoped it will resume soon.

He was asked which actor would he like to play his character on screen. Viswanathan answered that he has no idea who would be playing the role in the movie. However, said that Aamir Khan would be his choice. He stated that he has a lot in common with Aamir.

Anand refused to spill any beans on who would be directing the film. Meanwhile, it is being said that Aanand L Rai will be helming the biopic.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir will next feature in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ co-starring Kareen Kapoor Khan. The film has been slated for April 2022 release.
