While most phones come with a glass back, brands mostly use different types of colour to launch different models. Now, with electrochromic glass, you can change the colour of the phone whenever you want to. So, you need not be worried about the colour of the phone while buying as you can always change it to preset colour shades.
A electrochromic glass backplate changes colour when the voltage is changed. It is not yet clear as to whether this will affect battery life of the device or will it increase the temperature of the device. A similar technology was earlier seen in the OnePlus concept phone, where it used the electric to change the opacity of the glass to hide the rear camera when not in use.

Electrochromic glass is already used in several places like airplanes, hotels, etc where tint of the glass is changed electronically. But having said that Vivo is taking this a bit ahead by introducing colours to it.
Meanwhile, Vivo is gearing up to launch two new smartphones in India. Vivo will soon launch the Vivo Y20 and Y20i smartphones. The Vivo Y20 is expected to come with a 6.57-inch display and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor. The smartphone is said to pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Leak reports also suggest that the Vivo Y20 is expected to feature a dual selfie camera and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
