NEW DELHI: Following the move from Airtel, Vodafone Idea also recently increased the prices of its prepaid plans. The newly announced plans are going live starting today (November 25). This move is aimed to improve ARPU (average revenue per user), which is the amount that a telecom company earns per subscriber a month. However, the analysts feel that this new price hike would make telecom services less affordable and could also lead to a decline in the subscriber base.
On the other hand, this latest tariff hike from Vodafone Idea is said to boost its revenues by 10%. The hike is also expected to help the telco in closing planned $3.4 billion fundraising, which the company aims to conclude by end-FY22. After this price hike, the Rs 79 plan with 28 days validity is now priced at Rs 99, an increase of Rs 20. The plan will offer 50% more talktime of Rs 99, 200MB data 1p/sec voice tariff. The Rs 149 plan with 28 days validity will now be priced at Rs 179.
So, if you are also wondering what the new prices are, then here is a list you can keep handy.
