Ajmer Sharif cleric Adil Chishty, who was seen mocking Hindu deities and Hindu religion in a video on June 23 has now apologised for the same. Adil Chishty now says that he was only replying to Nupur Sharma’s remarks, and had no intention to mock Hinduism. He also claims that he has demanded capital punishment for the killers of Kanhaiya Lal. It may be recalled that Adil Chishty is the third cleric of Ajmer Dargah who was found to be making objectionable remarks against Hinduism or threatening Hindus. One cleric Syed Salman Chishty is in jail for threatening Nupur Sharma. Another cleric Gohar Chishty is absconding after raising provocative slogans in a video.
