Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar’s funeral has already started with full state honours at the Juhu Qabrastan in Santacruz, Mumbai. According to the state funeral proceedings, the thespian’s mortal remains have been wrapped in tricolour flag by the Maharashtra Police Jawans.

Earlier, State Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray were spotted arriving at Dilip Kumar’s residence in Bandra to pay their last respects to the legend. “Enriching the Indian film industry, a shining star emerged from the silver lining. Dilip Kumar, who plays the role of Ajramar, will remain in the hearts of film lovers and fans forever. A heartfelt tribute to veteran actor Padma Vibhushan Dilip Kumar,” tweeted the CM wrote in Marathi.

Apart from this, several other celebs including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Dharmendra, Anil Kapoor and more also paid a visit to grieving Saira Banu while paying condolences on the unfortunate loss of the star.

On the other hand, fans of Dilip Kumar have thronged outside the late actor’s residence and the cemetery where large troops of the police force have been deployed to maintain the safety protocol amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday morning, Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98 after he was hospitalised for the second time in June after he complained about breathing problems. Confirming the tragic news, a statement from the actor’s official Twitter handle read, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago.”
