NEW DELHI: Cricketers, like most other sportspersons are very particular when it comes to their sporting equipment which they use during matches. And when it comes to the bats, most of the batsmen are very specific about exactly how they want them. From the weight of their bats, to their lengths being precise according to their needs, batsmen often take very good care of their most lethal weapon on the field.
Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana was recently seen making slight adjustments to his set of bats ahead of the crucial clash against Chennai Super Kings. But what he was doing is something you might not have seen before.
Struggling with the long handle of his bats, Rana himself sawed off the top of his bat handles to make his grip more comfortable.
In a video posted by KKR on their official Twitter handle, Rana explained that he has been using short handles since childhood and the current long handles of his bats were making him uncomfortable.
Head coach of KKR Brendon McCullum too helped out in removing the unwanted part of one of Rana’s bats.

McCullum in fact was a little worried when he first saw what Rana was doing and asked the left handed batsman if he should ideally get someone else to do that for him and also asked Rana to be careful.
KKR are aiming for their third IPL title this season and what they are looking for the most is consistency.
