watchOS: Apple releases iPadOS 15.5 and watchOS 8.6 updates – Times of India

Along with macOS Monterey 12.4 and iOS 15.5, Apple has also released the latest software updates for the iPadOS and watchOS in the form of iPadOS 15.5 and watchOS 8.6. The final builds have arrived after five beta builds.
The iPadOS 15.5 is compatible with iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later and iPad mini 4 and later. In a similar fashion, watchOS 8.6 is compatible with Apple Watch models running watchOS 8
The update doesn’t add any major change to the operating system, and is mostly about fixing bugs and OS improvements. The tech giant is saving the major updates and announcements for WWDC 2022, which is less than a month away.
In the iOS/iPadOS release notes, Apple notes:
“Wallet now enables Apple Cash customers to send and request money from their Apple Cash card
Apple Podcasts includes a new setting to limit episodes stored on your iPhone and automatically delete older ones
Fixes an issue where home automations, triggered by people arriving or leaving, may fail”
Updating your Apple Watch
To update your Apple Watch through your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then tap the ‘My Watch’ tab. Tap ‘General’ and then ‘Software Update’. Your download will start, then. You might be asked for the passcode to your iPhone or Apple Watch.
To update your Apple Watch directly, provided it is updated to watchOS 6 or later, connect it to Wi-Fi, open the Settings app, go to ‘General’ and then ‘Software Update’. Tap Install and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
It is advised to leave the Watch on charging for the entire duration of the update. When the update is complete, your Apple Watch will restart on your own.
