According to a Bloomberg report, Apple may postpone the release of iPadOS 16. The report claims that the company is planning to roll out iPadOS 16 in October.
Why the delay in iPadOS 16 rollout
The report suggests that the Stage Manager feature of iPadOS is the main reason behind this delay. As reported by Bloomberg, the Stage Manager multitasking system is taking longer than expected time to develop completely. During the beta testing phase, the developers criticised the Stage Manager feature for being buggy. The feature is also said to be not compatible with many of the available iPad versions that iPadOS 16 will support.
“During beta testing, the system has drawn criticism from some developers and users for its bugs, a confusing interface and lack of compatibility with most iPads. Staggering the release schedule will also allow Apple to put more engineering resources into completing iOS 16, the software update that will come included with the iPhone 14 in September,” says the report.
The report further adds that the company might roll out the iPadOS 16 with the launch of new iPads in October. Apple is expected to launch new iPads at an event in October. The alleged iPad Pro is rumoured to be powered by the company’s M2 chipset. Along with this, Apple is also tipped to launch a new entry-level iPad with USB Type C charging port.
