Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar on March 09 launched a veiled attack on Congress’ top gun Rahul Gandhi over his derogative remark on foreign soil of England. Addressing a book launch event, the Vice President said that if he kept silence on Rahul Gandhi’s statement given in England then he will be in the wrong side of Constitution. While addressing the event, Jagdeep Dhankhar said “It’s for us to ensure that the world looks up to our Parliament as the most disciplined, articulate and strongest legislative forum of debate. Our people are concerned and anguished with shouters of slogans, practitioners of indecorous conduct. Can we approve it?” He also said “No political strategy or party can justify compromising democratic values. If I observe silence on this misadventure by an MP outside India, which’s motivated, then I’ll be wrong side of Constitution. How can I sanctify a statement that mics are put off in Parliament?” “India is having a moment of glory being president of G20 and there are people outside from the country working in overdrive to denigrate us,” he added.
