xiaomi: After Apple, Xiaomi may launch its self repair program in India – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Apple is undoubtedly the trend setter. Recently, the Cupertino-based tech giant introduced a self-repair program. The repair program allows users to repair their own devices using the original Apple parts, tools and manuals. Now, another smartphone maker is all set to take the same route.
Xiaomi is all set to replicate the Apple model and might soon introduce a Xiaomi Care repair program. The company recently took to Twitter to announce its upcoming service. In the image shared, the smartphone maker can be seen explaining how it cares about the user experience and how it aims to become a better and user friendly company.

The image shared by the company hints that it wants to offer better services and repairability like tools, manuals and parts. The company has not revealed much about it and will unveil more details in coming days.
The company will introduce this repair program in India first and no other detail about the service is available right now.
Recently, Xiaomi reported a smaller than expected 8.2% rise in third-quarter revenue, hurt by intensifying competition from domestic rivals Oppo and Vivo. Profit slumped 84% to 788.6 million yuan, which Xiaomi attributed to changes in the valuation of companies in its investment portfolio.
Excluding one-time gains and losses, Xiaomi earned 5.18 billion yuan in profit, largely in line with the average analyst expectations for 5.09 billion yuan. Xiaomi’s smartphone revenue rose just 0.4% to 47.8 billion yuan.
