Xiaomi is all set to launch its most-premium series of 2022 yet — the Xiaomi 12 series — in India. The company has announced the launch of Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G in a post on Twitter. “Life is a show, let’s make it worth the wait. #Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is coming soon to India! Because the show is incomplete without “The Showstopper,” goes the tweet from Xiaomi India. Xiaomi 12 series has already launched in China earlier this year. Going by the specs, the smartphone will take on the premium flagships from Samsung and OnePlus.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi announced the global launch of the Xiaomi 12 series in Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. The Xiaomi 12 series comes in three models: Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X. So far, Xiaomi has announced the launch of 12 Pro 5G, it remains to be seen if and when the company launches the other models in the series.
Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 runs on Qualcomm’s most-powerful processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while Xiaomi 12X runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Specs-wise Xiaomi 12 Pro is top-of-the line with most-powerful features. A Lite version in the Xiaomi 12 series too is speculated, but so far there is no official confirmation.
The smartphone has a 6.8-inch LTPO 2 OLED screen. For photos, there are three 50MP lenses at the back — Primary: 50MP, f/1.9, Sony IMX707, 1/1.28-inch; Secondary: 50MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide, 112-degree FoV; Tertiary: 50MP, f/1.9, 2x optical zoom. In front there’s 32MP camera with f/2.45 aperture.
In China, the phone launched in two variants — 8GB/12GB and 128/256GB storage. The phone packs 4,600 mAh battery with 120W wired charging and wireless charging up to 50W.
