Abhishek Bachchan celebrates mom Jaya Bachchan’s 50 years in movies with special post – Times of India

Abhishek Bachchan took to Instagram to share a series of movie stills featuring mother Jaya Bachchan to celebrate a landmark moment in her career, as she completed 50 glorious years in the Indian film industry. Abhishek six stills memorable films from Jaya’s career and captioned the post with a heartfelt message that read, “I’m so grateful to be her son, and to see her complete 50 YEARS in the film industry is a moment of pride. Happy 50 years of cinema Ma, I love you.”

While fans appreciated Abhishek’s gesture for his mom, other celebrities from Bollywood also expressed their love and adulation for the past. Names like Dia Mirza, Navya Naveli Nanda, Shweta Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, Sonali Bendra, Kunal Kapoor and dozens more commented on the post, too.

In the post, Abhishek shared stills from Jaya Bachchan’s movies like ‘Abhimaan’, ‘Chupke Chupke’, ‘Guddi’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and more. While Jaya Bachchan had made her on-screen debut in 1963 with Satyajit Ray’s ‘Mahanagar’ her first film as a lead actor was Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘Guddi’ in 1971, a stellar five decades ago.

Abhishek will be seen next in ‘Dasvi’ with Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. Apart from that, he also has ‘Bob Biswas’ in the offing along with a remake ‘ Seruppu Size 7’, which was being shot in Chennai recently.
