Apple to add a new emoji to make you feel happy about wearing masks – Times of India

In order to promote people to wear masks and also feel good, Apple is releasing a new emoji. The emoji showcases a face with a medical mask and instead of a sad or sick expression, the new emoji showcases a smile underneath the mask. The message is simple: you can wear a mask and be happy too or wearing a mask doesn’t necessarily mean you are sick.
Apple is expected to roll out the emoji with the release of iOS 14.2 beta 2. Apple iPhone users may get to use the emoji later this year.
While Apple is trying to express the hardship of COVID-19 with emojis, the Unicode Consortium is also releasing five new emojis to describe feelings. Interestingly, these emojis could be used to describe the year 2020 as well. Of course, you can use these emojis in any context that you want to. Also, Unicode Consortium is not officially saying that these emojis are dedicated to the year 2020. Having said that these emojis are created keeping in mind the roller coaster ride of 2020 for the entire world.
The upcoming emojis are:
-‘Face in cloud’ suggesting absentminded, face in clouds, face in the fog, head in clouds
-‘Face exhaling’ suggesting gasp, groan, relief, whisper
-‘Face with spiral eyes’ suggesting hypnotised, spiral, trouble, whoa
-‘Heart on fire’ suggesting all that you wanted in 2020 but couldn’t
-‘Mending heart’ suggesting that things are improving
In case, you don’t find the new ones appealing, you can always stick to all general expressions of anger, confusion, the ones with X eyes.
