Apple Watch SE: Apple may bring ‘trouble’ for affordable smartwatch makers – Times of India

Apple has announced a special ‘Time Flies’ event on September 15. The Cupertino-based company is expected to announce two new Apple Watch, new iPad tablets and more. New models of Apple Watch are said to include the Apple Watch Series 6 and an affordable variant of Apple watch. Rumoured to be called Apple Watch SE, specs of the alleged budget Apple Watch have appeared online. Tipster Jon Prosser has shared a post on Twitter sharing information about specs and features of the watch.
As per his tweets, the Apple Watch SE (name not confirmed) will come in two models- 40mm and 44mm. The watch may feature similar design as that of Apple Watch Series 4. He further states that there will be no ECG and Always-on display feature on the budget Apple Watch. It is likely that the watch may come powered by an M9 chipset.

In another post, he wrote that the affordable watch is not listed as ‘Apple Watch SE’. For hardware engineers, the watch is termed as Apple Watch and Apple Watch Pro’. However, these are not the final marketing names, he added.
Rumours have it that the cheaper Apple Watch will come with a plastic body to help reduce the cost. It is also suggested that the watch may offer the upcoming ‘Kid mode’ that can help alter the Apple Watch for children. Using the feature, parents will be able to set up the Apple Watch as a child device on the parent iPhone.
