Assassin’s Creed Infinity: A new Assassin’s Creed game has been confirmed by Ubisoft – Times of India

There is a new Assassin’s Creed game in the making. Codenamed “Infinity”, it is going to be an online service-based game, Ubisoft announced in a press statement.
The Assassin’s Creed games have been standalone titles, with a focus on a different period of history with each title. But Infinity would be different, as per a report by Bloomberg. The report says that the game may feature multiple connected settings that could look and play differently and that more of them could be added over time. Infinity sounds about right with that logic. A smorgasbord of connected worlds, wider and bigger in scope than any single Assassin’s Creed outing.
A game of this scale could see some years before it launches and it seems a single studio would not be able to shoulder the responsibility for the same. Ubisoft is employing a “collaborative, cross-studio structure” to build Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will be led by Marc-Alexis Côté, who will serve as executive producer of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. He has worked on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, then worked in the position of the creative director on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and was the senior producer on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Assisting Côté will be Étienne Allonier of Ubisoft Montreal, brand director for Assassin’s Creed for the last 10 years, and their respective teams. Ubisoft Montreal’s Julien Laferrière will oversee the production at both the Quebec and Montreal studios. Jonathan Dumont and Clint Hocking will share the responsibility as joint creative directors, overseeing their respective teams at both the studios, the video game maker said.
It is looking to be the most-expansive Assassin’s Creed experience in development.
