Picking his favourite, Ayan said that he loves Yash and it would be ‘great’ if he essayed the role of Dev in the sequel. Interestingly, producer Karan Johar had exclusive told ETimes that Yash had not been approached for the sci-fi drama. While reacting to other speculations, Ayan Mukerji told Indiatoday that Ranveer Singh in ‘Brahmastra: Part 2 – Dev’ was the biggest rumour he has heard and refrained from commenting about other actors being cast in the the main role. Speaking about the sequel, Ayan had previously said, “‘Love is the light’ was my line for the film. ‘Brahmastra: Part One’ used to be called ‘Love’ for the longest time because that was the theme of the film. It is a love story and Shiva got his power from love. But ‘Part Two: Dev’ will be a darker and juicier story in terms of the dramatic conflict. The follow-ups will be darker for sure.”
Recently when Hrithik Roshan was quizzed about being cast in ‘Brahmastra’, he had cryptically said, “What is happening? Nothing is happening. Next ‘Fighter’ will start and then there is potential for others to be made, (including) the ones you spoke of. Fingers crossed.”
