The Supreme Court today agreed to hear a plea against the grant of remission to 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano case. The apex court was hearing a PIL filed by Communist Party of India (Marxist) Politburo Member Subhashini Ali, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, and one other petitioner. The 11 convicts were released by the Gujarat government under its remission policy on August 15.
