An Indian student working as a waitress in London was stabbed multiple times by a diner in broad daylight. Sona Biju hailing from Kerala arrived in Britain in February 2022 to pursue her master’s at the University of East London. She was working as a part-time waitress in an East London restaurant called ‘Hyderabad Wala’. On March 25, a man posing as a diner came in and viciously attacked Biju multiple times. The man also threatened to attack the restaurant staff and customers who attempted to save Biju. The attacker has been identified as Sriram Ambarla, an Indian national from Hyderabad. Ambarla has been charged with attempted murder, he appeared at Thames magistrates’ court on March 28 and was remanded to custody. After the attack took place, Biju was taken to the hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
