In a joint effort, ITBP personnel and SDRF managed to remove obstacles from the front of lake to widen the flow of water. Water from the lake, formed due to the disaster, is now being discharged with good force and speed downstream. Teams working towards widening the flow of water were equipped with mountaineering equipments. From past 7 days, 5 feet reduction in the water level of Lake on Rishi Ganga was observed. A glacier burst in Chamoli district led to the calamity which claimed more than 100 lives.
