Choreographer Ahmed Khan reveals Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol have no ego and its easiest to make them dance
Ahmed Khan disclosed that because there is ‘no ego involved’, working with Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol is ‘easiest’.
Choreographer turned filmmaker Ahmed Khan, who has worked with several B-Town superstars and directed films like ‘Paathshala’, ‘Baaghi 3’, ‘Heropanti 2’ and ‘Rashtra Kavach Om’, recently talked about making the Deol trio — Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol dance in the film ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’.He stated that although dancing is not their forte, it is the “easiest” to make Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby dance because of their inherent ‘childlike’ qualities.
During a conversation with O2india, Ahmed revealed how he managed to make Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby dance in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’. He further added that he is the only person who has made the three Deols dance together in one frame. The filmmaker called Dharmendra the ‘He-Man of Indian cinema’, Sunny Deol his elder brother and Bobby his dear friend.
Ahmed disclosed that all three of them are very ‘humble’ and ‘childlike’. He stated, “I’ll tell you, it is the easiest because they are so childlike. They are so humble, they know dancing is not their thing. Sunny says, ‘you tell me, I don’t know anything, so I’ll do whatever you ask me to. It doesn’t matter if I look good or bad doing it, the public will accept me anyway’.”
Ahmed also mentioned that since there is ‘no ego involved’ and the Deols have no input, working with them is simple. He said, “Dharam paaji would say, ‘you give me anything, I’ll do it in my style’. So it’ll look like that only. And Bobby has a swag, so you can work with it. They are so honest and innocent that it is beautiful to work with them. It is easy because they don’t have inputs. There’s no ego involved. It is the easiest to make them dance.”
On the work front, Ahmed Khan is busy directing the third installment of fan-favourite franchise, ‘Welcome 3’ (officially titled ‘Welcome To The Jungle’). The film will feature Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles. ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ will reportedly hit the big screens in December 2024.
