Court directs Yo Yo Honey Singh to provide voice sample in obscene song case | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood – Times of India

In the obscene song case, a district court in Maharashtra’s Nagpur directed popular singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh to remain present at Pachpaoli police station between February 4 and 11 to provide his voice sample. The Additional sessions judge however permitted Honey Singh to travel to Dubai for entertainment shows till February 4. The court’s directives came while hearing an application by Hirdesh alias Honey Singh, for relaxation of conditions imposed on him for travelling abroad by the sessions court, before granting him anticipatory bail on October 27, 2015. Honey Singh sought permission to travel to Dubai contending that he had not breached conditions of bail and was ready to comply with all the terms and conditions that will be imposed by the court. On the other hand, the application was opposed by the investigating officer arguing that Singh was not cooperating in the investigation. As per Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) orders of January 10, Singh had been asked to appear at the police station on January 25, but he informed his inability through email. Before disposing of Singh’s application, the judge stated, “It appears that the applicant is bona fide seeking permission to travel abroad for his business engagement on three different dates. Considering the fact that his presence is required by the police to record his voice sample, he has shown his bona fide by filing pursis for providing his voice samples. Under these reasons, I see no legal impediment to grant permission to him by imposing certain conditions.” The police complaint against the rapper was lodged by Anandpal Singh Gurnam Singh Jabbal through counsel Raspal Singh Renu. When no cognisance of his FIR was taken, the complainant moved the police commissioner with the same contentions. But he too failed to initiate action, prompting Jabbal to file a case before the JMFC under Section 156 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Subsequently, Pachpaoli police booked him under various sections of IPC. Honey Singh then moved the higher judiciary for quashing this FIR.
