Every year fans of celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani eagerly wait for him to launch his star-studded calendar. This time, the photographer got delayed in launching it due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the wait was worth it for his fans. Taking to his Instagram handle, Dabboo has now launched the calendar and despite the COVID-19 lockdown and strict guidelines, he managed to take some amazing shots of the celebs. The calendar features Alia Bhatt, Tara Sutaria, Vicky Kaushal, Abhishek Bachchan, Sunny Leone, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan. While sharing his experience of doing the photoshoot amid the pandemic, in his conversation with the Bombay Times, Dabboo said, ‘Putting the calendar together was a different experience this time. We worked with a small crew and followed all the protocols. We shot between December 2020 and February this year, before the second wave of COVD-19 struck.’ He further explained the moody blue snap of Alia Bhatt and said, ‘Alia’s blue gown, the dewy feel and the entire look is like she’s red-carpet ready. We’ve shot her in a grunge avatar before. This picture is more about her mood and expression.’ Talking about Saif Ali Khan’s picture, he said, ‘I had never really done this kind of a shot. For this photo with Saif, I used a red glass filter, which cuts across the picture. The look is futuristic. We finished this shoot within five minutes at his house. The feel is edgy and Saif pulled it off well. He loved the picture when he saw it’. Commenting on Hrithik’s picture, he said ‘This year, we decided to do a body shot with Hrithik in black and white and made him lie down on a shiny granite floor and gave it a different feel by keeping it intense, cool, and very superheroish’. For Tara Sutaria‘s super stunning picture, the ace photographer felt, ‘The shot has a great vibe; it looks modern and young.’
