India Meteorological Department on April 16 issued Orange alert for West Bengal. IMD has also predicted a further increase in temperature in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and North West India in the coming days. Naresh Kumar said, “There will be further increase in temperature in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and North West India in coming days. Due to western disturbances, temperature will drop in coming days. Orange alert has been issued regarding heatwave in West Bengal.” “There is low possibility of heat wave in Delhi but the temperature may be greater than normal by 4-5 degree Celsius. There is possibility of heat wave in isolated pockets of Punjab and Haryana in coming 2 days,” he added.
