Puri Jagannadh, the director of the film ‘Liger‘ is reportedly planning to head back to Hyderabad and the reason for the same is believed to be the failure of his recent release ‘Liger’.

Rumours are rife that the director has been forced to vacate the posh Mumbai sea-facing flat he rents for a hefty sum of Rs 10 lakh per month. In addition to the rent, Jagannadh also has to bear maintenance costs, stated a report on Gulte.com.

The report further claimed that the director is contemplating moving back to his mansion in the upscale Jubliee Hills area.

‘Liger’, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, faced a knockout at the box office. Even though there was a massive buzz around the film, it failed to generate footfalls due to negative word-of-mouth and poor reviews.

Since the film’s poor performance at the box office, reports claim that the team is charting out ways to return money to distributors and exhibitors for the loss they suffered during the film’s run in theatres.

Meanwhile, Puri Jagannadh’s next film ‘Jana Gana Mana’ has also been affected by ‘Liger’s performance with reports claiming that the movie has been shelved.
