Director Tushar Hiranandani: I wanted to make ‘Srikanth’ as my first film | – Times of India

In the world of Indian cinema, where storytelling reigns supreme, some tales transcend the ordinary. The upcoming film ‘Srikanth’ is one such story, a narrative that captures the essence of resilience, determination, and the human spirit. In a recent interview with ETimes the director of the movie Tushar Hiranandani, delved into the journey of bringing this compelling story to life.
“I wanted to make ‘Srikanth’ as my first film. But I couldn’t get hold of Srikanth because he was so busy with his work that he didn’t have the time to meet me,” Tushar revealed, reflecting on the initial challenges he faced in acquiring the rights to the story.

Undeterred by setbacks, he pursued his creative vision, eventually finding success with the critically acclaimed ‘Saand Ki Aankh.’ It was then that fate intervened, and an opportunity to revisit his passion project emerged.

“Then I connected with his partner Ravi who was instrumental in making this film happen. He helped me get the rights. His role in the film is played by Sharad Kelkar,” he explained.
Delving deeper into the intricacies of the rights acquisition process, the director shed light on the fortuitous turn of events that ultimately paved the way for the film’s production. “Srikanth had given his rights to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Ravi went to him and got the rights to me,” shared the director.

“I was lucky. Rakeysh Ji was not making the film at that moment so he gracefully gave the rights to us. And we made the film,” he concluded.
Headlined by Rajkummar Rao ‘Srikanth’ is one of the highly anticipated films of 2024, which will be hitting the theatres on May 10.
