‘Dobaaraa’ box-office collection: Anurag Kashyap’s Taapsee Pannu starrer crashes after collecting Rs 20 lakh on its first Monday – Times of India

Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dobaaraa’, which hit the screens on August 19, found very few takers. After opening low at Rs 75 lakh at the box office, the movie crashed on its first Monday.

The thriller drama managed to rake Rs 20 lakh nett on its first Monday, taking its overall collection to Rs 2.70 crore. The film was released in theatres as streaming giants insisted on a theatrical release before it went digital, a report in boxofficeIndia.com stated.

The report also added that the Taapsee starrer will gross a little under Rs 3.25 crore nett in its first week and the lifetime business will probably struggle to hit the Rs 3.50 crore mark.

Apart from Taapsee, the film also starred his ‘Thappad’ co-star Pavail Gulati and Rahul Bhat in key roles. Ahead of the film’s release, Taapsee had shared that ‘Dobaaraa’ received positive reactions from pre-release shows and urged the audience to give the movie a chance.

On the work front, Taapsee will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ co-starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Apart from this, she also has her maiden production, ‘Blurr’ in her kitty.
