Please trash me on Wikipedia, I’m begging you
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) 1597568477000
While the rationale behind this particular post from Musk is unknown, Twitter users were happy to oblige to his request and have been having a ball in the comments section. Not only that, due to the overwhelming response on Musk’s Wikipedia page, the online encyclopedia platform has exercised ‘extended confirmed protection’ on his page.
Once this gets implemented, only editors with extended confirmed user access level. Musk’s Wikipedia page shows that it is ‘extended-protected until June 13, 2021 due to vandalism.’
This is not the first time Musk has mentioned Wikipedia on Twitter. In fact the last time he mentioned it was incidentally the first time he saw it for the first time he said. In December 2019, Musk said, “Just looked at my wiki for the 1st time in years. It’s insane! Btw, can someone please delete “investor”. I do basically zero investing.”
Not just that, in a reply to his tweet, Musk also said that one day he will write what’s his “fictionalised version of reality.” “My wiki is a war zone with a zillion edits. At least it’s obviously not curated! Some day, I should probably write what *my* fictionalized version of reality is,” he said in a tweet.
