Exclusive! Sanjana Sanghi: All my favourite audition stories are from monsoon only – Times of India

Rains this year created havoc in Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra. However, the season of monsoon has a streak of fondness attached to it. Like many others, Sanjana Sanghi too has her share of stories to tell. The actress who hails from Delhi, has made Mumbai her home and the city’s rains have a different magic she shares.

“All my favourite audition stories are from monsoon only,” says Sanjana as she remembers hopping from one audition to other while being new to Mumbai. She adds, “The toughest thing to get, when it pours, is the auto-rickshaw. So when I was new to the city, a teenager, I would be trying to get one, while on the streets balancing myself and the umbrella in the strong winds and the rains. It’s a like a circus managing umbrella, getting off the rick and paying your rickshawala at the same time while it pours. Knowing you are going to get wet in the rains, I would carry a pair of extra clothes with me and change before going to the audition.”

When she looks back today, the actress says that these are the challenging moments that one learns from. Today, when she is driven around, the Dil Bechara actress feels that she enjoys the view from the window in the backseat of the car. “Yes, when you are driven around then you can enjoy the rains better (Laughs!). Monsoon is so much exciting. I have fun hanging out with my friends, sipping on garam chai and having piping hot samosas.”
