EXCLUSIVE! Why Sanjay Dutt left Mumbai today – Times of India

Sanjay Dutt, who has reportedly been diagnosed with an advanced-stage lung cancer, completed his first round of chemotherapy sessions at a private hospital in Mumbai. The actor left the city at around 4 pm today with his wife Maanyaata Dutt. According to an industry source close to the Dutt family, the actor-producer took a chartered flight this evening to Dubai to meet his children, Shahraan and Iqra, and is expected back in the city in a week’s time. “Sanjay is doing well, and is expected back home in just a week or 10 days. He wanted to see his twins, who are still in Dubai. They’re attending their classes from there,” says the source. However, rumours were flying thick and fast, even as we went live with the story, that the actor has taken off to the USA for his further treatment.

It has been a little over a month since the news of Sanjay battle with lung cancer became public knowledge. The actor underwent advanced tests at a hospital near his residence in Bandra, and was in the care of another medical facility in Andheri where he underwent chemotherapy over the last one month. The actor was recently seen at a suburban shooting studio where he filmed pending portions of his forthcoming film, Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra. On the work front, while two of Dutt’s upcoming films —Bhuj: The Pride of India and Torbaaz — are complete, his other projects – Shamshera, Prithviraj and KGF Chapter 2 – are in various stages of completion.
