India’s apex drug regulatory authority, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has launched an investigation into four India-made cough and cold syrups. Earlier, the World Health Organisation had issued an alert over four cough and cold syrups made by Haryana-based Maiden Pharmaceuticals. The cough syrup under scanner include Promethazine Oral Solution, Kofexmalin Baby Cough Syrup, Makoff Baby Cough Syrup, and Magrip N Cold Syrup.
