Google Docs is getting a new update, here’s what’s new and how to use it – Times of India

Google Docs is getting a new formatting related feature aimed to make it simpler and faster to format a document. The company has already started rolling out the new formatting options to all Google Account users.
According to a blog post, it’s a rapid rollout and will take around 15 days to be available for all the Google Accounts. The post also notes that there’s no impact on admin controls due to this feature.
Google Docs’ new formatting feature: What’s new
The new editing tool allows Google Doc users to select multiple text selections in a document and apply similar formatting such as text size, bold, colour, delete, copy, paster, etc to all the selected text at once.
For instance, if you have a document with multiple sub-headlines then you can now select all the subheads and apply similar formatting to them. The same can be done for other parts of the documents as well.
The new feature will not only make the entire document more streamlined and presentable but
will also save time and effort and increase productivity.
How to select multiple texts in Google Docs
Selecting multiple texts in Google Docs is simple. All users need to do is select one bit of text like a word or sentence as they would normally do. Then, press and hold Ctrl or Cmd key in the case of the Mac and select all the other texts. But do keep in mind that you’ll need to keep the Ctrl or Cmd button pressed until the selection process is done.
Once done, let go of the Ctrl or Cmd button and start applying the changes.
