Google Lens has received a new UI update, here’s what has changed – Times of India

Google will be holding its Search on 22 event on September 28 where the company is expected to announce several ‘search’ improvements across the platform. However, ahead of that, the company has made some UI changes to the Lens to help users search better using the tool by adding search filtres right on the home screen page.
9to5Google has reported that this change is only applicable when the Google Lens is accessed using the Search bar or home screen shortcut on Android smartphones and iOS devices. If you can remember, Google Lens opens in a three-part screen where the first part has the Search with camera; the second part has around eight recently captured screenshots; the third part has all the images from your gallery.
To access different search filtres, users usually have to tap on the ‘camera’ icon at the top or swipe down and then tap on the respective filtres such as Text, Translate, Homework, Shopping, etc.

What has changed
After the update, the search filtres appear right on the ‘Search with camera’ section. This allows users to quickly tap on the filtre they want to use and jump right into the filtre. This will make searching using Google Lens faster and easier.
The new UI change is rolling out on both Android and iOS versions of the update starting today and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
