‘Govinda Naam Mera’ vs ‘Prithviraj’: Is Vicky Kaushal picking new release date to avert box office clash with Akshay Kumar? – Times of India

The makers of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Prithviraj’ announced their new release date and according to it, the period drama will be locking horns with the Vicky Kaushal starrer, ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ on June 10, 2022.

According to a report in a news portal, the makers of ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ have decided to reschedule the release date of the Vicky Kaushal starrer. The report added that they have a good relationship with the makers of ‘Prithviraj’ and the latter was keen on this date, so it was jointly decided that the release date of ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ be rescheduled. The report further stated that the new release date is yet to be locked and is expected to be announced soon.

Apart from these two films, the Hollywood film ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is also scheduled to be released on June 10. Even if ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ is out of the picture, the Akshay Kumar starrer will still clash with ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ at the box office.

‘Govinda Naam Mera’ stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani in lead roles. ‘Prithviraj’, on the other hand, stars Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar in lead roles.
