Fake celebrities meet and greet events have become an alarming online scam, wherein scammers share false news of organising an event, announcing celebs as chief guests, only to commit fraud by swindling victims. Actor Govinda, who enjoys a massive fan following, recently came across a similar incident on social media, where his name and the picture were used in an event promotion ad to lure people. After coming across this advertisement stating that fans can meet the actor at a Lucknow event, he warned fans that it is fake and said ‘false news.’ Notably, according to the fake poster, it gives fans a ‘golden opportunity’ to meet Govinda and even share a meal with him. There are also ticket booking details mentioned in the advertisement. On the other hand, megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently terminated his contract with a pan masala company, saying no to endorse it and be the face of that brand. However, the brand has reportedly did not pull down the advertisement and is still broadcasting the commercial featuring him. Now, Big B has sent a legal notice to the company. A source has told ETimes that ‘As it was noticed that despite termination of the Endorsement agreement, the pan masala company has ignored the same and is seen to continue Airing the TV Commercials. Mr. Bachchan has sent a legal notice to the company asking them to stop broadcasting the TV commercials immediately.’ Watch the video for more details.
