Instagram now bringing ads in search results – Times of India

If you were not convinced enough to buy that product, you are getting the ads in your feed, then Instagram has more ways to reach you. Pitching it as one more way for brands to be discovered and build meaningful customers, Instagram is now bringing ads to search results.
These ads in search results are to reach people actively searching for a brand, product, or content. The ads will show up for terms that a user is searching within the results, and then one can tap the post to head to a “feed people can scroll.”
The ads in search are still under testing and should roll out to all the users in the coming months.
Ads to remind you of an upcoming event
Only if ads were not enough, Instagram is also introducing Reminder Ads, which businesses can use to announce, remind and notify people of upcoming events or launches. It is opt-in, so users would not receive any notification unless they sign up for it.
Think of a post for an upcoming event or an announcement; below that, there will be a “Remind me” button. Tapping that signs users up for the Reminder Ads. So, you will receive three notifications, one a day before the event, 15 minutes before, and the last one when the event starts.
Reminder ads are rolling out to all the advertisers. These will “help advertisers build awareness, anticipation, and consideration for upcoming moments,” said Instagram in a blog post.
These ads come at a time when Meta, the parent company of Instagram, is seeing a drop in its ads revenue. Last year, Instagram bought two more ad slots – putting ads within the Explore feed while introducing “post-loop” ads that play after a Reel has ended. Then, there are ads in between the Reels, Stories, and even user profiles.
