Xiaomi: Redmi Note 12 Turbo with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 to arrive soon in China – Times of India

US-based chip maker Qualcomm has recently launched its latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. This chipset is expected to power multiple smartphones in the coming days. During the launch of the chipset, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi confirmed that it will be using the mobile platform for its upcoming Redmi Note 12 Turbo smartphone. The company announced that its first-ever Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2-powered smartphone will be coming in March. Now, Xiaomi has reportedly revealed the launch date of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo smartphone which will be powered by the latest top-end Snapdragon 7 series chip. Xiaomi took to Weibo (spotted by FoneArena) to announce that the upcoming phone will be launched in China on March 28.
Redmi Note 12 Turbo: What to expect
Xiaomi’s Weibo teaser reveals that the upcoming smartphone will have a similar-looking triple rear camera design as the Redmi Note 12 Pro series. However, this phone will not ship with a camera bar which is available in other phones in the lineup.
The Weibo poster also reveals a 64MP primary camera while the phone seems to retain the 3.5 mm audio jack. Redmi Note 12 Turbo is expected to have a different rear design but will also ship with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As per the report, the general manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing has claimed that Redmi Note 12 Turbo smartphone with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will focus on performance. The smartphone is also expected to improve the user experience of mid-range products.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2: What to expect
Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset has already shown great performance during tests. The chip also claims to inherit the flagship features of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which was released in 2022.
However, there’s a slight gap between Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 7+ Gen 2’s peak performance and overall energy efficiency. Weibing added a balance between power consumption and performance is also expected from the chipset.
