The Indian Medical Association has issued an advisory to avoid using antibiotics for treatment of the flu cases that are on the rise for the past couple of months. Patients report cough and cold symptoms accompanied by fever for over a week. The ICMR has linked this infection to a subtype virus Influenza A H3N2. ICMR says this virus has been in circulation since December.
