How will the in-display Face ID feature work
As per the report, the TrueDepth camera for Face ID will not be visible under the display when it’s not in use. This will make the iPhone’s display appear “seamlessly contiguous with the surrounding screen area,” the report adds. Apple is expected to maintain the front camera hole in iPhone 16 Pro’s display. However, the report claims that the new technology will improve the “overall display area and sense of immersion”.
iPhone 15 lineup: Rumours
Apart from this, the report also claims that all four models in the iPhone 15 lineup (iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra) will support the latest Dynamic Island feature. This new feature is available in the latest iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The less expensive models of the upcoming iPhone 15 series are also rumoured to get this feature.
The report also claims that the company is also working on an under-display camera (UPC) technology. Apple may adopt this technology way after the introduction of the under-display Face ID feature. The UPC tech is expected to eliminate all of the display cutouts that are currently present on the iPhone.
