The highest base price category is Rs 2 Crore. A total of 17 Indian cricketers with a base price of Rs 2 crore will go under the hammer this time. Rs 2 crore is the highest reserve price. As many as 48 players in all (17 Indian and 31 foreigners) have chosen to place themselves in this bracket in the final auction list which stands at 590 players. A total of 1214 players had earlier registered for the auction.
The Indian cricket board released a list of 590 cricketers (370 Indian players and 220 overseas players) who will be up for grabs during the two-day mega auction. Amongst 590 players, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 belong to Associate Nations.

Apart from the eight existing teams – Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad – IPL 2022 will also see two new teams – Lucknow Super Giants and the yet to be named Ahmedabad franchise.
