JEE Advanced 2022: The application registration procedure for the JEE Advanced 2022 examination is closing today on the official website – jeeadv.ac.in.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, the JEE Advanced 2022 organising institute, will close the online application window today at 5 PM.

Interested and eligible candidates, who have not applied yet, are advised to submit their JEE Advanced application online at the earliest possible as the website is likely to become unresponsive toward the closing hours. The last date to pay the application fee is August 12, 2022.

As per the official information, the JEE Advanced 2022 will be conducted on August 28, 2022. The Paper 1 exam will be held from 9.00 AM to 12.00 noon and the Paper 2 test will be held from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM.
Of the 9,05,590 candidates who took the JEE (Main), a total of 2,62,157 qualified to take the JEE (Advanced). State-wise the highest number of candidates have qualified from Uttar Pradesh (35,170), followed by Maharashtra (25,953) and Telangana (25,796). A total of 99.6% of the 2,480 candidates in the persons with disability category qualified for the IIT entrance test.

The qualifying percentile at JEE (Main) to be eligible for JEE (Advanced), the entrance test for admission to IITs, has registered a four-year-low for all the reserved categories and a three-year low for the unreserved category.

A total of around 2.62 lakh candidates from JEE (Main) have qualified for the JEE (Advanced), with the maximum number of successful candidates coming from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra and Telangana.

The cut-off for the unreserved category recorded a marginal decrease — 88.4 this year as against 88.8 in 2021, and significantly low from 90.3 in 2020, while for the OBC-NCL, it is 67 as against 68 in 2021.

The cut-offs for the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST are at a four-year low. For EWS the cut-off came down from 78.2 in 2019 to 63.1 this year, while for SC it dropped from 54 to 43 during the same period. The qualifying percentile for ST too fell substantially to 26.7 this year from 44.3 in 2019.

Gender-wise, while there is none from the others category to have qualified. 22.9% of the qualified candidates are female, which is significantly lower than the 28.4% of women who took the JEE (Main).

Category-wise 39% of the candidates to have qualified for JEE (Advanced) are from the OBC, followed by 20.3% from the general category and 16.9% from the ST category. 15.8% from the ST category and 7.8% from the EWS category also have qualified for the IIT entrance test.

The registration for the JEE (Advanced) started on Monday and the exams are scheduled for August 28.
