LAC row: India, China to hold 12th round of corps commander-level talks on July 31 | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The 12th round of corps commander-level talks between India and China will be held in Ladakh sector on July 31.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 10:30am.
“India and China are expected to discuss disengagement from the Hot Springs and Gogra Heights areas,” reported news agency ANI quoting sources.
India and China held 11 round of talks at the Corps Commander level to reach the arrangement to disengage from the Pangong lake area on April 9.
The two countries have been engaged in a military standoff for almost a year but disengaged from the most contentious Pangong lake area after extensive talks at both military and political level.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh and external affairs minister Jaishankar had also separately met their Chinese counterparts during an SCO conclave in Moscow in September last year.
The two countries had then agreed to refrain from taking any further military actions that could escalate tensions, with the two foreign ministers also agreeing on a five-point diplomatic consensus for disengagement and de-escalation. The meetings had eventually led to troop disengagement on both sides of Pangong Tso, after some false starts, in February this year.
