Indian bowlers had a luxury of a big score under their belt. However, they still needed to bowl well to put pressure on the opposition’s batting lineup and Indian bowlers showed their class yet again. The pitch had some help for the bowlers but not much. However, all the bowlers showed tremendous discipline and fire to put pressure on the Lankan batters on a consistent basis. Ashwin broke the opening stand and after that, Jadeja and Bumrah with their superb spell put the pressure on, and eventually, India got four wickets in the session. Especially the wicket of Mathews was key and it is going to be a tough task for the Lankans on Day 3 against a quality Indian bowling attack. Earlier, the foundation was led by the batters with Jadeja smashing a career-best 175 to take India to a big total and that meant that Sri Lanka were always behind the 8-ball coming into this final session.
