Meet Droni – the made-in-India drone unveiled by MS Dhoni – Times of India

Former captain of India’s national cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni unveiled a camera drone called Droni at The Global Drone Expo in Chennai. The Indian cricket star happens to be the brand ambassador and also an investor in the drone manufacturing company Garuda Aerospace. The price of the drone has not yet been revealed. As for availability, the drone may arrive by the end of this year.
Droni is a made-in-India battery-operated quadcopter surveillance drone. The features of the drone are yet to be extrapolated by the company and we know little about them at the moment
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Garuda Aerospace founder and CEO, said, “Our Droni drone is indigenous and can be used for different surveillance purposes. It is efficient, seamless and high quality from a tech and build standpoint. By providing Make in India drones, we hope to not just become Aatmanirbhar for the demand of drones but also place India on the global map as a hub for superior quality, safe and secure drone and drone-based solutions.”
The former Indian cricketer said at the event that he got invested in the topic of agriculture during the COVID-19 lockdown and learned about the important role drones can play for farmers and agriculturalists.
Besides Droni, Garuda Aerospace also launched another drone at the event. It is called the Kisan Drone and can carry pesticides and spray them over a land area of 30 acres per day.
Over 1,500 participants from 14 international drone companies and representatives from over 28 states and union territories took part in The Global Drone Expo.
