Meet the man behind Vicky Kaushal’s chilling ‘bruised and battered’ look in ‘Sardar Udham’ – Times of India

Actor Vicky Kaushal who is basking in the success of his recently released film ‘Sardar Udham’ took to his Instagram handle and gave a shout out to the man who made his bruised look in the film look realistic enough to fetch him his next National Award possibly.

Dropping a behind-the-scene picture from the vanity van where Vicky is seen posing with a Russian prosthetic artist, Peter Gorshenin who made his spine-chilling battered look real enough to convince the audience. He captioned the monochrome picture, “ “The Russian dude who made me look all bruised and battered!!”

Originally posted by the artist, the picture read, “Wonderful actor @vickykaushal09 vickykaushal09 #sardarudham @pgorshenin.” To this, Vicky poured love and added, “Peter!!! Sending lots of love.” Have a look:

Previously, Vicky had also shared yet another look of his cuts for the brutal scenes of the film and left fans speechless.

Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, ‘Sardar Udham’ sees Vicky playing the titular role of the revolutionary figure Sardar Udham Singh. Talking about the film, the director told BT, “My first choice was Irrfan for playing Sardar Udham. Both of us wanted to make this film for a very long time. It’s not easy to cast someone when you have lived with the thought of Irrfan doing the film. Vicky came into the picture much later. I had seen only one film of Vicky and that was Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan. It was beautifully made and Vicky was able to convey the innocence and turbulence in his mind calmly. I needed someone who could do that. He has integrity. Being a Punjabi, he’s closer to the sentiment, language and pain of the character and knows what Punjab has gone through. All these factors led me to him and also the fact that he could play all ages — 20, 30 and 39 convincingly. He managed it quite well..”
