Cancer is one of the fastest rising non-communicable diseases burdening the world and affecting the littles ones too.However, the types of cancer that affect children are different from the ones that affect adults. Not only are the signs and symptoms different and unusual, but a lot of cases go undetected or are left without treatment because of the lack of knowledge and awareness. In India, the number of childhood cancer cases are steadily on the rise. It is estimated that nearly 50,0000-60,000 cases are diagnosed each year, and sadly, lakhs of people go undetected, or do not receive the proper care and attention they need. These numbers are only said to rise in the coming years, owing to a lot of factors.
